The Association for International Arbitration is a non-profit organization located in Brussels, whose members consist of arbitrators and mediators of international and local backgrounds throughout the globe. With over 40,000 contacts worldwide, including over 400 experts with extensive experience in the field of resolving business disputes, AIA strive to help investors obtain solutions to their problems, in order to protect future business relationships. The organisation was originally born out of a wish to create and develop a truly global network of professionals in the field of arbitration, be they arbitrators, legal practitioners, academics, scholars or students. The objective was, and still remains, to promote the use of arbitration and other efficient and appropriate means of ADR at both an international and more localised level.
