Established in 1940, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) began recruiting foreign students in 1995. BIT is located in Beijing, the capital of China. BIT currently has more than 1,500 foreign students from 107 different countries, such as South Korea, Germany, Pakistan, Indonesia, Poland, and Mexico. The international students attend various programs such as mechanical engineering, computer science and technology, control science and electrical engineering, automation engineering, information and communication engineering, aeronautics & space science and technology, design and arts and other major engineering fields.
