In the wake of the recent data revolution, statistics are becoming increasingly important in almost all areas of business, science and everyday life. The planning of clinical studies, quality control in industry, the prognosis of election results or economic growth rates depend on modern statistics. The TU Dortmund University in the heart of the Ruhr Metropolitan Area is the only university in the German-speaking region to have an independent statistics faculty with approx. 700 students, enabling studies in small groups with personal supervision. About half of the students are women.
