The INSA Toulouse is a Grande Ecole d'Ingénieurs, a School of Engineering in 5 years, under the authority of the Ministry of Education and Research. Created in 1963, INSA Toulouse is part of a network of 5 INSAs located in Lyon, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg. The INSA network represents the largest group for the training engineers in France : 12 % of engineers who, each year, obtain their engineering degree in France, graduate from one of the INSA establishments. To date, over 40 000 INSA engineers contribute to the social and economic fabric worldwide. INSA organizes its teaching via 8 departments and 2 centres, in 10 specializations and participates in research laboratories. In 2002, INSA Toulouse began a vast reform of its structure to adapt to the European 3/5/8 system. INSA trains around 460 engineers a year in 10 specializations. Alongside courses in the sciences, significant emphasis is placed on human and social sciences and sports at INSA Toulouse.
