Lakeland College | Canada
When Lakeland College opened in 1913, there were only 34 students enrolled. Today Lakeland has two campuses and nearly 7,000 full- and part-time students, but is still as tight-knit as ever. The classes at Lakeland College are small, so your instructors get to know you. Not just your name but also your wants, needs, hopes, and fears. They can sense when to challenge you and when to cut you some slack. If you have a question or a concern, the door’s always open. And if you need a place to board your horses for the summer, an extra ticket to the basketball game, or a recommendation letter for a job application, the door’s probably open for that, too. Lakeland College’s comfortable setting allows you to focus on learning. The award-winning programs are designed to ease your transition into the workforce and/or further study at a four-year institution. You’ll get a university-caliber education at Lakeland, but without the red tape, the big crowds and the distractions. Horseback riding along park trails, climbing an icefall during an outdoor recreation field trip, doing the night shift in the lambing barn, teaching fun games to elementary school students, or meeting friends at the big event. Sound exciting? These are just a few of the Live the Learning moments captured in scrapbooks of Lakeland College students.
