Linköping University (LiU) was granted university status in 1975 and today has 32,000 students. including 2,000 international students. LiU rank among more than 20,000 universities in the world, both as a young university and in several subject rankings, such as Nursing, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Energy Science and Engineering (Shanghai list’s subjects ranking 2019). In close collaboration with the business world and society, LiU conducts world-leading, boundary-crossing research in fields including materials science, IT and hearing. More than half of the LiU research budget comes from external funding.
