National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) is situated in Tainan City, a historical city with rich cultural heritage and a new metropolitan center for science and technology. In keeping with this tradition, NCKU seeks to be pioneers in the modern sciences and technology. NCKU campuses are all closely interlinked, enabling the nine colleges to share the plentiful resources. National Cheng Kung University has a tradition of diligence and an excellent climate for academic research. In recent years, NCKU has achieved remarkable results. From a College of Engineering, this university has expanded to its present size with nine colleges. A cornerstone of excellence, the College of Engineering has thus far achieved the most prominent research results. The College of Sciences is noteworthy as well in its research achievements. As the newer contribution to this university, the College of Medicine performs remarkably in its fields. Other colleges, including the College of Management, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and the College of Electrical Engineering among others are making steady progress in compliance with development plans year by year.
