NOVA University of Lisbon | Portugal
The Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL, or simply NOVA) was founded in 1973, and is the youngest of Lisbon’s three public Universities. NOVA aims to innovate in higher education in Portugal and to contribute to the social and economic development of the country. The Faculty of Law (FDUNL), commonly known as NOVA Law School, is its youngest offspring. It opened in 1997 to challenge a rather conservative, traditional way of teaching law in Portugal. NOVA Law is a dynamic centre for pioneering research and teaching in new areas of law, while meeting the ever growing demands of academic and professional training.
