The School of Health Sciences in Jönköping provides a range of education on undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. The aim of the School of Health Sciences in Jönköping is to conduct, facilitate and promote excellent education and research in the area of health, care and social work designed to promote and improve the health of individual and population. The School strives for a living social contact in its entire sphere of activities by being flexible to the society’s needs and through collaboration with other universities, enterprises and organisations. This has resulted in that innovation and entrepreneurship are common features in our education. The investment in research at the School of Health Sciences in both national and international cooperation generates high and valuable competence. Research is an important basis for quality and progress and is also a source of inspiration for students. Research at the School of Health Sciences in Jönköping is conducted within four profiles: - Ageing – Living Conditions and Health - Quality Improvements, Innovations and Leadership - CHILD - Oral Health The School of Health Sciences in Jönköping offers postgraduate education within the Research School of Health and Welfare. The doctoral studies have a multi-disciplinary approach and incorporate both community collaboration as well as international experiences. The research programme includes both courses and empirical studies in order to graduate with a PhD degree (4 years full-time) in one of the subjects Disability Research, Gerontology, Nursing Science, Occupational Therapy, Oral Health Science or Social Work. Doctoral students from other universities within and outside of Sweden are encouraged to participate in the post-graduate courses offered by the Research School.
