Tokyo Medical and Dental University - TMDU | Japan

Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) is the sole Medical and Dental University in Japan with four graduate school education and research systems; 1) Medical and Dental Sciences, 2) Health Sciences, 3) Biomedical Sciences Education Division, and 4) Biomedical Sciences Research Division, four faculties; 1) Medicine, 2) Dentistry, 3) Health Sciences and 4) Oral Health Sciences, one College of Liberal Arts and Sciences that handles basic liberal arts teaching, two research institutes; Biomaterials and Bioengineering and Medical Research, and two university hospitals affiliated with the medical and dental school.   The human image that TMDU imposes on the student is that of a scientist, to challenge unknown things, respect the diversity but yet accept changes. To show curiosity to every matter and to not regret in expending every possible effort to seek truth. It is the image requested for those who pursue medical sciences and who engage in profession of medical sciences and clinical work. Moreover, the science that is sought must be useful for the survival of the human species. The goal of TMDU is not only to educate and train students as medical and dental doctors, and co-medical professionals who can meet the needs of society but also to train them as researchers and leaders who can actively participate and take a leading role in the front line of international settings.
