Founded by Philip III of Spain in 1620, the University of Cagliari was born with four teachings: Theology, Law, Medicine, Philosophy and Arts. In the second half of 1700, Palazzo Belgrano is still home to the Rectorate and the University Library.With the Law of Casati "of 1859 in Cagliari developed the Botanical Garden and the Biological Station.
