The Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) is a five-year program that will teach you how to prevent, diagnose and treat oral diseases and abnormalities. It's also the only AQF Level 8 undergraduate dental program in Australia. Complete supervised clinical practice as you learn about general practice dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral medicine, public health and more, in a range of settings including UQ's $138 million Oral Health Centre. Begin pre-clinical (simulated) placements from semester one of your first year of study and move into clinics treating patients from year two as part of our oral health alliance with the Metro North Hospital and Health Service. Undertake an extended placement (40 weeks) in your final year in a range of clinical settings, including the Oral Health Centre as well as government and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service clinics throughout Queensland.
