Bachelor of Midwifery | Bachelor's degree | Health & Well-Being | On Campus | 3 years | The University of Queensland | Australia
The Bachelor of Midwifery will develop your professional skills in providing care, education, support and advice to expectant mothers (and parents) through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. The Bachelor of Midwifery is underpinned by an innovative, inquiry-based approach to learning informed in international best practice by industry experts, and responds to current national and global population health challenges. Undertake practical learning in a hospital from your first semester of study. You'll learn from practising clinicians who have extensive midwifery experience, as well as lecturers who are among the best in Australia and leaders in teaching and research. Benefit from a program that applies theory to specific case studies designed to reflect what it's like to really work with women and parents from diverse backgrounds. Generally, you will stay in the same placement hospital for the duration of your degree. Graduate job-ready after completing over 1000 hours of supervised clinical placements. This includes continuity of care experiences, which involve accompanying women through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum experience.
