The university master's degree in Interdisciplinary Education of the Arts focuses on the study of − and analytical experimentation with − forms of artistic expression, cultural products and activities linking two or more artistic disciplines that are normally addressed separately in school curricula and initial teacher training. The aim is to highlight the importance of interdisciplinarity in contemporary culture and its relevance to educational innovation. The principle objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to conduct detailed examinations of the artistic endeavours, forms of expression and artistic products found in contemporary society, with a view to carrying out effective professional work as cultural mediators. The course also provides suitable training to holders of teaching and education degrees or related studies who wish to improve their teaching skills in the areas of artistic expression and communication, providing access to doctoral programs in these fields. The master's degree in Interdisciplinary Education of the Arts is taught by the Faculty of Education but is not intended solely for future teachers and educators; it is also suitable for students with previous qualifications in arts disciplines, including philology, fine arts, humanities, audio-visual communication and music sciences.
