Chinese and French | Bachelor's degree | Languages | On Campus | 4 years | University of Leeds | United Kingdom
If you have an A-level in French, this degree will allow you to refine your skills while learning Chinese from scratch. You'll work on both languages in the core modules you study, as well as exploring key issues in both Chinese-speaking and Francophone cultures. However, our School of Languages, Cultures and Societies is large enough to offer a wide variety of optional modules in both subjects, so you can focus on topics that interest you. Chinese History and East Asian religions are among the topics you could study, as well as Francophone Africa, medieval romance and antiracism movements in France. You could also develop practical skills like translating or interpreting, or even try learning another language as well. You'll even spend a year in China and a term in a Francophone country to gain an insight into the local culture. It's a fantastic opportunity to gain fluency in two world languages and explore diverse cultures around the globe.
