This degree will allow you to learn Portuguese from beginners' level and gain an insight into Lusophone and Latin American History and culture. By combining core and optional modules, you'll build language skills and explore topics from literature and cinema to national identity and the African Diaspora. You'll also benefit from the Instituto Camões - the cultural institute of the Portuguese government is on campus and you'll have access to all of its facilities. If you have A level Russian or equivalent, this degree will improve and refine your language skills while exploring Russian culture, History and politics. You'll study core modules that introduce you to Russian culture and literature as well as improving your language skills. You'll also spend a year studying in Russia to develop your spoken and written Russian. But you'll also choose from optional modules to explore topics from Dostoevsky to the language of the Media.
