This degree will allow you to learn Portuguese from beginners' level and gain an insight into Lusophone and Latin American History and culture. By combining core and optional modules, you'll build language skills and explore topics from literature and cinema to national identity and the African Diaspora. You'll also benefit from the Instituto Camões - the cultural institute of the Portuguese government is on campus and you'll have access to all of its facilities. If you have little or no knowledge of Russian, this degree will allow you to learn the language from scratch while gaining an insight into Russian culture, History and politics. Core modules will develop your speaking, reading, listening and writing skills and you'll spend your second year studying in Russia to improve them. You'll also be introduced to Russian culture and literature and choose from a wide range of optional modules exploring topics that suit your interests.
