This degree will allow you to learn Portuguese from beginners' level and gain an insight into Lusophone and Latin American History and culture. By combining core and optional modules, you'll build language skills and explore topics from literature and cinema to national identity and the African Diaspora. You'll also benefit from the Instituto Camões - the cultural institute of the Portuguese government is on campus and you'll have access to all of its facilities. Russian Civilisation allows you to study Russian literature, Media, History, politics, religious practices, economic and social issues to gain a wide range of skills. You don't need any language skills, but you'll have the chance to learn at beginners' level in your first year. A combination of core and optional modules will give you a firm grounding in different aspects of Russian culture alongside specialist knowledge in the areas that interest you the most.
