Gender, Sexuality and Society (Taught) | Graduate diploma / certificate | Humanities & Culture | On Campus | 1 year | Birkbeck, University of London | United Kingdom
This programme is built around the interdisciplinary study of gender and sexuality, bridging the divide between the social sciences and the arts and humanities. The programme focuses on political and social issues, including the diverse and changing nature of personal relationships, economics and the workforce, and development and legal studies. It addresses the latest debates, using cutting-edge research from this exciting and growing area of study. The programme considers competing theories and approaches to gender and sexuality, and explores the ways in which these intersect with concepts of race, ethnicity, age and class. This course will develop your ability to discuss diverse theories of gender and sexuality and consider how gender and sexuality are represented, and operate, within relevant humanities or social sciences literatures. You will be given a firm grounding in gender theory and will develop the confidence to apply appropriate theories to your independent research project.
