Students agree their research topic with a main supervisor before they start. They attend all departmental research seminars and special lectures and deliver at least 1 paper of their own each year, usually at the annual Postgraduate Forum. If there are areas of research methodology which need to be addressed, they are invited to attend relevant courses offered by the Graduate School, or their supervisor advises them.
