Our online Midwifery degree is hands on with 50% of your studies dedicated to midwifery practice experience courses. You will gain over 1200 hours of professional experience placements with a range of settings such as hospitals, family planning clinics, community health, and home visiting. In addition, under the supervision of a registered midwife you will take the lead role in the continuity of care of a minimum of ten women throughout their pregnancy. You will experience placements in birth suites, antenatal clinics, postnatal and neonatal units.
Our Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) has a strong focus on Indigenous health and human rights inspired by the Respectful Maternity Care charter. Your studies will include preconception, pregnancy, labour and birth, post birth as well as social and political contexts, multicultural aspects, evidence based practice, choices, and models of midwifery and maternity care.
