This course is designed to allow students from the disciplines of sociology, social history and humanities to progress to a Foundation Degree. The Foundation Degree in Applied Social Policy will enable you to apply theoretical concepts to practical environments, focusing on problem solving and solution-based approaches to contemporary issues and concerns. You will gain a firm grounding in sociology, politics, economics and social policy as well as studying the history and models of welfare states. You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the multi-disciplinary nature of the social policy environment and will be able to apply knowledge to address contemporary social issues and problems and will be able to provide workable solutions to issues and problems within the field.
