The Institute for Drama in German, founded in 1992, is committed to the goal of training qualified actors, especially for the German stages in Romania. The training focuses on developing acting skills, improvisation exercises, staging narrative texts, role-study with increasing character difficulty, public appearances within workshop productions, and theater internships. The lecturers are predominantly professional theater practitioners, actors and directors, providing a current and immediate contact between education and theater work. Close cooperation exists for years with the German State Theater from Timișoara, the German Cultural Center and the German Consulate. Lecturers from German-speaking countries regularly conduct projects and workshops at the institute.
