Population Medicine (Research) | Master's degree | Health & Well-Being | On Campus | Cardiff University | United Kingdom

You can conduct your research degree within Division of Population Medicine. Research considers the whole environment within which healthcare is delivered, far beyond the individual. Division of Population Medicine aims to improve health and healthcare through research, research-led teaching, engagement and innovation. The Division’s postgraduate research programs focus on Prevention and redesigning healthcare services. These involve consideration of the causes of health problems and how prevention can reduce burden and harm, reviewing how various health conditions are treated and looking at ways to make health care better in terms of the quality, cost effectiveness, and disparities of medical care. All post-graduate researchers have the opportunity to present their work within the Division’s Academic Weekly Meetings, and at the annual School of Medicine Postgraduate Research Day. These structures extend to early-career researchers with supervision and mentoring by senior researchers and clinician scientists. Non-clinical senior academics are integral to our multidisciplinary team. All PhD's and Post Docs are jointly supervised by a multidisciplinary team, and enjoy daily access to supervisors, sensitive group feedback when presenting at the weekly seminar program, and financial and other support for attending additional courses and conferences. The Division seeks to conduct world-leading research that is socially responsive, locally relevant, and applicable internationally. We aim to achieve this by increasing our focus on those areas of research where we have the strongest track record and potential, and by developing structures that ensure integration between disciplines and across existing groups. Research is focussed within two programs: Prevention Re-designing Healthcare Services Children and Cancer The modules shown are an example of the typical curriculum and will be reviewed prior to the academic year. The final modules will be published by September.
