The practice of paramedicine requires high levels of accuracy, responsibility, and accountability and is founded on caring and compassion. Graduates of this program will have demonstrated the ability to integrate complex knowledge, skills, and attitudes in a variety of patient-related situations and practice settings. Since the profession is recognized as having a strong physical basis and as having a high-stress component, graduates will have developed plans to promote their personal health and well-being.Graduates of this program are eligible to write the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (AEMCA) exam. Graduates of this program are also eligible for employment as a Paramedic in the province of Ontario. The Paramedic program at Fanshawe College meets all Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities program standards and is also accredited by the Canadian Medical Association recognized as a Canadian Forces accredited program.
