MSc Dietetics (pre-registration) | Master's degree | Health & Well-Being | On Campus | 2 years | Glasgow Caledonian University | United Kingdom
The MSc Dietetics (pre-registration) programme aims to apply previous academic knowledge in psychology, biochemistry and other related subjects to the clinical setting and integrate this with nutrition and dietetics.
The holistic nature of client care is refleted in the behavioural science elements of the Dietetics programme, which allows for HPC (Health Professions Council) Registration in Dietetics. You are strongly recommended to visit a Department of Nutrition and Dietetics before applying to this programme and be familiar with the key skills involved in the Dietetic profession .
Some lecture classes will be taught in conjunction with undergraduate students and Master's students and the programme is supported by external specialists from nutrition and dietetics.
An increase in interest in food in relation to health, alongside the changing nature of the National Health Service has extended the boundaries of dietetics to include a wide range of professional opportunities. However, the majority of graduates from the programme will initially be employed as hospital based dietitians.
To comply with HPC registration requirements, students must complete three clinical placements, which must be undertaken in approved hospital departments throughout the UK.
