The pharmacy pathway is compatible with the emerging agenda for advanced and specialist practice within the pharmacy profession; pharmacists who follow this pathway incorporate the advanced and consultant level competency framework (ACLF) or related frameworks if relevant (e.g. pharmacist with special interest) within their advanced professional practice award and be able to demonstrate competency, by completing a portfolio of evidence throughout the programme, in all 6 competency clusters of the framework (expert professional practice; building relationships; leadership; management; education, training and development; research and evaluation).
