The Master’s programme in Archaeology at Leiden University offers a truly unique choice of challenging regional and thematic specialisations. The faculty staff are involved in projects all over the world, with a strong emphasis on field Archaeology. This means that there is a strong connection between our current research projects and our education, and that you will be able to work with top researchers. The specialisations offer an additional focus on Ecology and geology. This is combined with iconoLogical and historical studies, as well as with ethno-Archaeological, Anthropological and experimental approaches. As a student of one of our specialisations, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the discipline of your choice. At the same time, you will take part in ongoing debates about general theory, the development of new methods and the use of Information Technology.
