This programme is intended for individuals who aspire to design physical 'Special Effects'. A portfolio of skills and evidence is built up throughout the course which helps the student develop appropriate knowledge and competencies required to meet industry's needs and challenges.The general educational aims of this programme are to develop the student's intellectual and creative abilities, enabling them to enlarge their view of the study programme in a broad context beyond the limits of the subject and departmental perspectives. Critical self-awareness and confidence to make judgements will also be developed throughout the programme.The ethos of the programme is the preparation of individuals for employment in the design profession through a well-rounded course programme and educational experience. As well as developing theoretical and practical knowledge pertaining to the design discipline, students are encouraged to develop transferrable skills.
