Underpinned by the latest development in women’s health, midwifery and maternity care, this exciting new program will be of interest to qualified midwives and other relevant healthcare professionals. This program will challenge midwives to critically examine how they can work to optimise the childbirth experience of all women and their families with a particular focus on issues surrounding examination of the newborn.
Graduates of this program will have the ability to not only reflect on professional practice to enhance self-awareness and professional development but also the skills and knowledge base to critically analyse and evaluate maternity care provision in order to identify areas for development.
The Examination of the Newborn module within this certificate will provide midwives with the knowledge and skills to enable them to perform the initial newborn examination within their role.
