Textile Practices | Bachelor's degree | Engineering & Technology | On Campus | 3 years | Plymouth College of Art | United Kingdom
If you have a love of fabrics, a passion to experiment, and a desire to explore multidisciplinary approaches to designer-making, then our new Textile Practices programme cuts across a number of different textile disciplines, giving you a great introduction to a wide range of technologies and techniques for making textiles and generating your own ideas.
We value the fusion of traditional and new technologies – from laser cutting and 3D printing, through to knitted textiles, tufted surfaces, print and dye techniques, embroidery and innovative fabric manipulation. Focusing on the development of textiles-based ideas and
their application, you’ll develop your craft, making and textile manipulation skills.
You’ll also gain an international perspective – we’ll encourage you to visit fashion fabric shows in Paris and interiors shows in Germany. You’ll be encouraged to take up work experience opportunities and internships suited to your area of interest, and to buildnetworks of suppliers, agents, and practitioner events.
