This programme is for people who are seeking to work in social development and to examine the opportunities and constraints created in the wider community in relation to the goal of attaining better health of a population; this includes local health planners, community health staff, health promoters and community workers addressing health improvement; the course focuses on: analysing the relationship between gender, health and development; identifying the many opportunities and constraints relates to the social development of a community; appraisal of the impact of such opportunities and constraints on a planned health project or programme; and the effective planning and implementation of health and social interventions.
