This programme aims to provide a good grounding in the standard spoken and written language of contemporary Iran and to provide an introduction to the main forms of classical and modern Persian literature. At SOAS the study of Persian can be combined with an unparalleled range of disciplines and languages. All combined-honours degrees in Persian expose students to at least three years' intensive study of Persian language.
