This program leads to a professional BFA degree for students who wish to pursue a career as a studio artist and/or continue their education by completing an MFA graduate degree. Students at SUU receive a solid foundation in fundamentals of two-dimensional design, painting, color theory, drawing, figure drawing and anatomy, printmaking, and art History. They are continually guided by faculty and are encouraged to develop their own artistic voice by exploring their personal interests in image making. At the end of four years, students will have a body of work that permits them to gain acceptance into a gallery or continue their education with an MFA. Many graduates are currently teaching as professors across the United States and are represented in professional galleries and venues.
