Maulana Azad National Urdu University | India

The Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) was established in 1998 by an Act of the Parliament as a Central University with an All India jurisdiction. The Mandate and Objective of the University, as per the Act, is to promote and develop the Urdu language, provide higher, technical and vocational education in the Urdu medium and to provide focus on women’s education. The University has started functioning from 9th January 1998 with headquarters at Hyderabad. The campus is located in 200 acres of land at Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The Maulana Azad National Urdu University is fully funded by the University Grants Commission and functions under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The President of India is the Visitor to the University. The Act empowers the University to provide education through both the distance and campus modes of education. The Maulana Azad National Urdu University offers postgraduate, graduate, diplomas and certificate courses through distance education.
