Master's program in Resource Recovery - Polymer Materials for the Circular Economy | Master's degree | Engineering & Technology | On Campus | 1 year | University of Borås | Sweden
Polymer materials such as plastics and textiles are an important part of our daily lives. It is therefore important that sustainable methods for recycling and new polymer materials with reduced climate and environmental impacts are developed and made available on the market. If this is something you want to learn more about and work with in the future, then this Master's program is for you.
The program deals with polymer materials and how they can be part of a circular economy. It includes the recycling and reuse of polymers, biodegradation, and how polymers accumulate in the ecosystem as well as the development of renewable biopolymers and the development of polymers that work in a circular economy.
The program covers both the production and applications of plastics, textiles, and composite materials, as well as their properties. Emphasis is on the possibilities of creating polymers from biologically based raw materials and how these are broken down biologically. An important part of the educational program consists of practical lab components to provide basic skills in processes, characterisation, and testing the properties of materials.
