Undertake research and scholarship in academic practice and develop research-informed academic practice. This course aims to develop students' understanding of key aspects of academic practice in higher education, including the principles and processes of learning and teaching, and the various external and institutional factors impacting upon academic practice. Provide opportunities for you to undertake research and scholarship in academic practice, with a view to developing research-informed academic practice. Develop your ability to undertake curriculum design and development, teaching, learning support, assessment and evaluation in higher education in order to enhance the student learning experience. Enable you to reflect critically upon your academic practice and to plan your own continuing professional development. For each of the two modules there is a two day teaching block and five two hour workshops. There is also a three week e-tutoring online course which will require around five hours of your time each week at your convenience.
