The programme establishes a creative energy through challenging the dynamic of functionality; desirability; the aesthetic; the significance of material; sustainability, social context and ethical issues; and essential considerations to energise design practice. Industry and business focussed projects, working with contemporary technologies and the development of visual language skills will help students acquire the knowledge and confidence for product development. The design studio and technical workshops provide the environment for innovation in the production of two and three dimensional work. Students can elect to complete an additional year of study, to graduate with the BSc (Hons) Product Design qualification.
