The Art Education program at CCS is a studio-based Visual Arts Teacher Certification program connected with the BFA degree. While students master their craft, they complete rigorous education and core liberal arts courses. Hands-on teaching experience at our onsite, art- and design-based charter school, University Prep: Art & Design—as well as others throughout Metro Detroit—prepares graduates to teach in Michigan and across the United States. Post-Degree Teacher Certification Program Option If you have already earned a 4-year degree in art and design and are seeking additional K-12 Art Education Certification, you can enroll in our 27-credit Post Degree Visual Arts Teacher Certification program.
