Joint honours degrees give you the maximum flexibility to study subject areas that truly interest you. Mandarin Chinese can be studied at beginner or GCSE level but if you wish to study the course at post A-level, you'll need an A-level in Mandarin Chinese. You'll develop excellent language skills as well as a broad understanding of Chinese culture and society. This course is ideal for anyone who wishes to understand the History, politics and social aspects of China. NTU's Mandarin Chinese course will introduce you to the modern spoken and written language of Chinese. This course will help you to gain impressive communication skills such as reading and speaking whilst developing your accuracy and fluency of this modern and widely spoken language. During your third year you will have the option to either work for a year or study in China. To help improve your career prospects you'll be able to take a final year module that develops translation and interpretation skills. You'll be taught with the latest cutting edge language learning methodologies and CALL technologies.
