Joint Honours degrees enable you to have the maximum flexibility to study subject areas that really interest you. History at NTU will introduce you to diverse peoples, nations and ideas from medieval and early modern right through to contemporary History within Britain across to the Americas, Asia and the Far East. Both subjects will enable you to enhance your written and verbal communication, independent learning, creativity and analytical skills. European Studies at NTU will give you the chance to study interesting areas of European politics, society and culture. The course will help you to examine the historical, social and political impacts which have shaped European culture and the various cultures which sit within it. You'll be taught by active researchers whose teaching is closely related to their field of work. History at NTU offers a range of ways to make sense of the past by utilising a selection of approaches and skills. This course requires you to be intellectually curious about the subject, be passionate and focused. The academic team at NTU teaches specialist modules informed by their own research specialisms, including; History Matters, Conflicts and Cultures in Mid-Victorian England 1850-1880 and Real Life Work Project. The skills that you will gain from this joint honours degree such as excellent organisation, multi-tasking and to produce analytical work to a high standard are all desired skills which today's leading employers are seeking. European Studies will provide you with a detailed understanding of the many factors which have shaped contemporary Europe. This course offers a unique opportunity to specialise in European Cultural Studies, European Cinema or European Politics and Society.
